I've completed my fat loss efforts for 2010.
I'll post the results over the next few days. Below you'll find summarised results for the measurements I took on 1st August. First, I've posted the pictures I took on the morning of the measurement.
The slight bulge around my lower abdomen is still present, though reduced slightly, even though my waist measurement increased slightly (by 1/8 inch).
Overall, my body circumferences went up slightly in 6 places, including the waist, down slightly in 2 places (chest and right bicep) and stayed the same in 2 places (left calf and bicep).
I was pleased with the increases in the neck, thighs, and right calf, and not pleased with the slight increase in waist measurement, and slight decrease in chest and right bicep.
As for my bodyfat, it had gone up by 0.5% to just under 11.1%at a bodyweight of 13st, 4lbs or 186lbs or 84.5kg – up by 1lb.
My fat mass = 20.6lbs/9.4kg – up by 1.2lbs/0.6kg
My lean mass = 165.4lbs/75.1kg = down by approx 0.2lbs/0.2kg
Summary
I got stronger over the last month, so something is going right.
My circumferences were a mixed bag with some improvement, some worse, some same.
My waist measurement increased slightly.
I gained just over a pound of fat, and lost slight amount of lean muscle tissue.
I'm aware that my age increase can affect the formula and calculation, and alter the trueness of the measurement.
At this time I was still sprinting x 3 per week.
The next measurement was at the end of August.
Overall, the fat loss wasn’t occurring as expected.
After consulting with my brother for advice, I decided to my protein intake to 1 gram per pound of bodyweight, and see what happened.
He suggested the possibility that I was consuming too much protein, whilst I suspected I was consuming too many calories in general to allow the bodyfat loss I was after.
Stay well, ahppy and tuned for Cris' continuing adventures in fat loss.
