A good friend of mine sent me an email celebrating Krishna Janmashtami; the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, who is revered by Hindus as a manifestation of God.
It contained quotes from the Bhagavad Gita; is a sacred Hindu scripture taught by Lord Krishna.
Aside from the beautiful illustrations that came with the email, some of the teachings in the text resonated with me.
I've picked my favourites below:
“Fear not what is not real, never was and never will be. What is real, always was and cannot be destroyed.”
“ Whatever happened, happened for the good; whatever is happening, is happening for the good; whatever will happen, will also happen for the good only. You need not have any regrets for the past. You need not worry for the future. The present is happening...”
“Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.”
“A gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return”
“They all attain perfection when they find joy in their work”
“All works are being done by the energy and power of nature, but due to delusion of ego people assume themselves to be the doer”
“Unnatural work produces too much stress”
Stay well, happy and inspired.
